Jio OR Airtel ? Which is earning more ?

Jio loses 1.9 cr wireless subscribers – TRAI keeps on releasing the figures every month, recently the staggering figures for the month of September have come out. You also see what Airtel earned and what Reliance Jio lost there.

Competition among telecom operators is increasing as according to a new report by TRAI, Reliance Jio lost 19 million users in September. On the other hand, Airtel has added 2.74 lakh customers. Vodafone Idea (Vi) also lost a significant number of subscribers during the month.

TRAI released a report on Monday along with September data that Airtel has achieved 0.08% market share of wireless subscribers. Whereas Reliance Jio’s userbase has seen a decline of 4.29% in September.

As per TRAI data, the total wireless subscribers declined from 1,186.72 million at the end of Aug-21 to 1,166.02 million at the end of Sep-21. It registered a monthly decline of 1.74%. Talking about the monthly decline rate of urban and rural wireless subscriptions, it was -1.92% and -1.53% respectively.

According to TRAI’s 4G chart, if we talk about download and upload speed, Reliance Jio has achieved the highest download speed which is 20.9 Mbps. Vodafone Idea was followed by Jio. It achieved an average downloading speed of 14.4 Mbps. Then there was Airtel which registered 11.9 Mbps speed.

Vodafone Idea ranks first when it comes to upload speed. Its data speed is 7.2 Mbps. Next comes Reliance Jio which has an upload speed of 6.2 Mbps. Bharti Airtel comes in third place with 4.5 Mbps upload speed. Airtel has recorded the lowest upload speed among the three operators.

Jio has the largest share of wireless subscribers at 37.40 per cent as compared to the August figures. It was followed by Airtel with 29.85%. While Vodafone Idea stood third with 23.15% share.

The total wireless subscribers declined from 1,186.84 million at the end of Jul 21 to 1,186.72 million at the end of Aug 21. This resulted in a monthly decline rate of -0.01%.This shows that the rate of decline in September was much higher than in August.

Talking about September, Jio had lost a lot of customers. Even then, it has the highest wireless subscriber market share of 36.43 percent. In parallel, Airtel is in second place and is present in the market with 30.40 percent share. Both Airtel and Vi have announced tariff hike for their respective prepaid plans.
